Like no other company, we offer a wide range of training opportunities in various departments of the administration and the city's operations for different apprenticeship positions. A significant part of the apprenticeship in the city administration is also dedicated to "looking beyond the horizon." Our apprentices should not only learn about their field of work, but also get an insight into all areas of the city's tasks.
The City of Dornbirn has been awarded the title "Excellent Apprentice Company" since 2004. Over 100 apprentices have completed their training in recent years. Many of them are still successfully employed in the City's service.

Apprenticeship: 3 years

- Organization and coordination of office work, appointments, and office materials
- Responsibility for incoming and outgoing mail
- Writing and filing letters, reports, notes, and summarizing documentation
- Handling tasks related to payments and accounting

Apprenticeship Period:
Only possible as continuing education, with a shortened apprenticeship period of 1 year (requirement: Completion of the Bäuerlichen Schul- und Bildungszentrum)
Training location:
Forestry Operation of the City of Dornbirn

The training takes place at the Forestry Operation of the City of Dornbirn. Vocational School: 8 weeks of block instruction at the Training Center in Ossiach
Your Tasks With Us
- cultivate forest areas and plant young trees
- learn to use forestry rope conveyor systems
- maintain the tree population, cut down and harvest ripe trees
- fell trees, relieve them and remove the logging remains
- take care of tree storage and prepare them for transport
- depending on the terrain, you will use different transport methods

Vocational school: ongoing attendance
State Vocational School Feldkirch 1st year:
2 days per week 2nd, 3rd, 4th year - 1 day per week

Hospital Training period: 3 years

Hospital of the City of Dornbirn

Training: The training takes place in the kitchen of the Hospital.
Your Tasks With Us:
- plan and organize orders and purchase of food
- prepare various dishes according to recipes for menu items
- chop, chop, roast, simmer, fry and grill vegetables and meat and make doughs, sauces, salads, soups and desserts
- season and taste dishes
- presentation and garnishing of plate dishes as well as platters
- create workflows in the kitchen as well as menu plans and menu sequences
- food laws and hygiene regulations
- perform menu calculations
